11th Street Brownfields Development
As part of the ongoing Brownfields development the properties between 11th & 14th Streets is also being demolished to make way for new development. Here the old factory along 11th Street is the first to go in this phase of the operation.
14th Street Brownfields Development
The “Brownfields” program takes old industrial properties and developes them into cleaner, more modern and economically viable uses.
The Ambridge Brownfields project targets the area from 11th St. to 19th St. between Duss Ave. and Merchant St.
The Several months later, the view has changed New Economy Business Park was the first visable area to be developed. The next area is the old H.H. Robertson plant located along 14th St. it is being demolished to make room for a variety of uses including residential, retail
Streetscape Project
The streetscape project from 12th St. to 16th St. on Merchant St. is progressing. As of the middle of July most of the sidewalk work is completed. Work on the roadway will begin soon.
The New Ambridge Area High School
The Ambridge Area School District has been undergoing an extensive building program for the past several years. They have built 3 new schools, the last of which is a new high school in Ambridge that is just being completed. It is scheduled to open in January 2008.
